E-Mail List & Version Control
Somebody sent out a massive email to several people from my high school. Ever since then, people have been doing "Reply All" and a lot of fun stories from our teenage years, etc are getting passed around to each other. However, some people do not want to get these and have gotten a little bit upset.
So... a couple of us created a new email list to avoid: 1) People who do not want the emails 2) People who were getting sent to both home/work 3) People who could get in trouble with their employers 4) People with limited space in their email accounts The new list is in Excel and we're trying to find a better way to keep a current list for people to use. Possible solutions: 1) A central website to get them from -- i.e. "Go to this website and do such and such to send out an email" 2) Send out an email periodically and say, "this is the list updated as of (insert date/time) If anybody has a better idea, it seems we are working hard to keep this under control, but we're not working smart. |

Google Groups might be worth a look.

You could get a Fastmail Enhanced account and set up a Distribution List. This will allow you to automatically get incoming messages sent to a certain email address forwarded to everyone in an online address book group. To use this feature, you have to use your own domain (not a Fastmail domain). This works well for several dozen addresses, but it sounds like you might have hundreds.
So a better solution might just be to have a blog (such as at WordPress) where everyone could post their thoughts. Bill |

How about using Facebook? Create an account for alumni of "Such and Such High school". Let people post and read stories.
