Which apps would you not want to miss, or try soon?
Some apps on my phone I wouldn't want to be without:
Livescore : an app giving all results in football (soccer) around the world. You can mark teams as favourites, which means the app automatically shows when those favourited teams are playing, and keeps you updated about the score. Ideal for me as I follow a lot of foreign teams, sometimes in relatively unknown leagues or in lower divisions. Livescore makes keeping on track very easy. Apparently SofaScore is similar, but since I am satisfied with Livescore I haven't tried SofaScore. The app of the Belgian football (soccer) association: likewise, you can mark teams you want to follow as "favourites". Then you get notified when those teams are playing, and what their latest result was. Apps of the Belgian railway company and of "De Lijn", the tram and bus company in the Dutch-speaking area of Belgium. The app of a local newspaper I often read. (In this list I didn't include standard apps such as email apps. Note though I never use any social media on my phone, that's reserved for my laptop at home). Apps I may try very soon: Futbology: an app for people visiting football (soccer) games around the world, the app gives you an overview which games are going on near you, and you can mark the games you visited. The app then shows a lot of statistics, such as which team you have visited most of all, the number of teams you visited overall or per league, ... HappyCow: an app that indicates per city where to find restaurants or dining places that offer vegan options. I guess this is one I cannot miss, even my dietiest recommended it to me. In my own city and most other Belgian cities I know where to go, but this app shows vegan-friendly places per destination, so when traveling this comes in very handy. |

Home Front Command: it's the app that saves my life. Usually by alerting me when someone is trying to shoot me, but it is also supposed to warn a few seconds before an earthquake, and in case of tsunami (it haven't happened yet, but a major earthquake is almost guaranteed to happen sometimes in the next millennium).
Other than that: The app of my bank, that I use to "cash" checks and to transfer funds AntennaPod that I use to listen to some podcasts. Shazam that tells me what song I am hearing. Waze that tells me the way to anywhere and when I will arrive. Osmand that I use for offline navigation when I'm abroad and not in a hurry. Smatlife that turns my hot water boiler on and off. pCloud that backs up my photos and files. Finally the worst app that I must have: myVisit: the app used to schedule appointments with many government and public services in my country. I wish I could choose a better app, but it's the public service that chooses it's appointments app, and they all choose this awful app that really sucks. |

OpenCPN on Android for nautical charting. I have downloaded every official USA nautical chart (for free) and carry in my pocket a navigation device that puts to shame most dedicated marine units costing much more. Could load charts for almost anywhere in the world. I've found the phone GPS is deadly accurate for this purpose.
