Yep I remember the Ultimate Bulliten Board. If you look at some of the earlier posts you will noticed they've been converted from ubb format to vbb format.

I notice the title of this thread is simply the old days and not the good old days. Does this imply that things are now better on these forums?

Of course, these forums are always getting better as more people come.

Dear Kyle,

I registered a few months before you did and I seem to vaguely remember UBB but that's about all. Did you have a specific question or concern? That would be Edwin's department.

Best wishes,
David P.

UBB is just another type of messageboard (or rather, a different software running it). I believe it's free, from what I can recall, and quite limited. Inferior to vBulletin (which is not free) I'd almost say...

And no, I haven't been around long enough for that, though I sometimes browse through the 'ancient' threads which sometimes show UBB coding...

Only a very inferior cut-down version of UBB was free. The one running this site at the beginning was a full paid-up version. vBulletin overtook UBB in features and speed a while back - I've no idea if UBB has caught up yet, btw - and so I made the change.

If you're looking for more info on UBB it's sold by http://www.infopop.com/ and comes in a remotely hosted version and a "classic" version (which is a much-updated version of the software that used to run this forum)

Talking OMG KYLE HI!!!

Heya Kyle!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME NO SEE!

How have you been man? Dave P., oded, lukask, Killer, Nickalaos, and I are pretty much the only members left from those days with the UBB. I remember all those peeps, like mikey, emailmaniac, and clemen....times sure were different back then...when everything was FREE! lol!

Good to hear from you Kyle, what are you using for email now anyways? I am still with Runbox and FM after all this time.

Cheers!
Tripper
