Wow 1.586 does that mean over a thousand tabs open at once?? (You would think they would list it as "1586" and not "1.586"

Thats impressive!!

Right now I have 2 open...

I have no idea. I haven't changed any setting from the default. I have hundreds of tabs that I haven't closed and they don't seem to cause much trouble so the browser must be managing them, or my system would have been stuck years ago.

The screenshot showed text in German.

In Germany, the thousands separator is a dot -- and their decimal separator is a comma.

In the UK we do it the other way round - so I write two thousand & six & a quarter as: "2,006.25" whereas in Germany they'd write: "2.006,25".

This is what my Brave extended search (AI) came up with.

Quote:
Firefox does not have a built-in maximum limit on the number of tabs that can be opened in a single window. The browser's capacity is instead constrained by your computer's available RAM and system resources, as each open tab consumes memory.

While users have reported managing hundreds or even thousands of tabs, doing so can lead to decreased performance, sluggishness, or browser instability if the system runs out of memory. To enforce a specific limit, users must install third-party extensions such as Max Tabs or Limit Tabs, which can be configured to block new tabs or automatically close the least recently used ones once a set threshold is reached.

Only 5 right now on this computer. More on another computer. I'm vigilant on closing tabs, even though old ones may go dormant and take up no memory.

Having 1500+ is crazy. I wonder if any are from years ago? It's like a historical time capsule.
