When I do have box cereal (Shreddies) I don't add sugar either. There is lots of sugar in the ingredients.

A diabetic friend told me that Multi Grain Cheerios was worse that regular Cheerios. Looking it up, I find 6% compared to 1% sugars.

If you have seen any documentaries about Kellogg Corn Flakes you will know that the Kellogg brothers fell out and they were making two competing Kellogg Corn Flakes; Doctor Kellogg made a "healthy" cereal without sugar, and his brother made a version with sugar. You can guess which company was a success.

I used to have Red River hot cereal once a week, but the company was bought and the new owner stopped production. After a quick search, it appears that after another new owner acquired the Red River Cereal brand it is being manufactured again. Ironically, I can find it listed on walmart.com (out of stock) but not walmart.ca at all. 0% sugars. Excuse me, I'm going to see what my options are for buying direct.

I eat cornflakes (plain) with sliced bananas and oatmeal with raisins every now and then. Most of the time it's cooked food.
