I wouldn't let a band name depend on whatever a machine suggests. Every band member should brainstorm and make proposals, and then the band can agree on a name.
For my own artistic work, which is a solo project, I have chosen the name myself. It was a well-considered choice and the result of brainstorming myself. I've been using the name for over 15 years, AI was not yet around to assist me in choosing a name back in 2010. ![]() Also, I would avoid silly band names. I'm a huge fan of Echo & The Bunnymen, but I may had discovered them earlier if only their name would be more appealing. As much as I adore their music, I think the band name is just silly. If I look at other bands that I like listening to, band names such as Manic Street Preachers and Orphaned Land suit the message and backgrounds of those bands perfectly. I like that, the band name having a symbolic and clear meaning. Slowdive is a nice example too of a really good band whose band name just suits the music they play (A Shoreline Dream is another great example). Some band names I like a lot (despite not being a fan of the bands) include Rage Against The Machine, Joy Division, ... While names like U2, The Beatles, Nirvana, Limp Bizkit, The Mamas and the Papas, The Who, ... are a bit silly in my opinion. Some of them make great music, but without a good band name. In the end, to each his own, but I'd always prefer a name with a meaning over a name that just sounds fun. |
