And, personally, I wouldn't commit anything important to a service without one of:
- confidence that the service is going to be around indefinitely on terms that remain acceptable
- a convenient method to keep an offline backup in a format that can be uploaded to another service and read locally by third-party tools.
The first of these pretty much means using one of the big email companies - Astermail, or any of the privacy companies, could go away without notice.
